New Journalism is a style of writing that was first used in the 1960s. It is a technique that is rarely used today, but can still be seen in certain magazine such as Rolling Stone, Elle, and Enquirer. In my opinion it should be used more often in current writings because it’s original. For example it tells a story using scenes, it uses dialogue instead of statements (this puts the reader in the middle of the conversation), it utilizes the narrator point-of-view about a particular scene or event, and lastly includes fictional techniques. But in spite of these few key points new journalism is not fiction. Instead it just wants know “how do YOU feel about that?”
